Welcome to Posh Designs Scrapbook Store! My name is Michelle and I am a proud SAHWM to an awesome, supportive husband of 5 years and wonderful, adorable 2 year old son. How I got hook onto scrapbooking was sort of a delayed reaction for me. Back in the Summer of 2007, my Mom held a Baby Shower in my honour as my Husband and I were expecting our first Son. One of best gifts I received was from my Aunt Marg, my first scrapbooking kit and album! I remember clear as day, all the coordinating papers and embellishments, my dreams of how, what I would record. Then somehow my scrapbooking dreams were put off even when my son was born in November 2007. That would all change in March 2008 when my desire to record my son's life journey into this world was resurrected. How you might ask? One day I was watching The Shopping Channel (in Canada) and a segment on Scrapbooking. Later on that day, my husband watched with me another show airing and together we knew this was something for me to get into. Today I enjoy all sorts of papercrafting from cardmaking to gifting. Although my first passion is scrapbooking, I am finding new ways to incorporate stamping onto my projects. He takes me to what ever scrapbook store that I want go to!! What's really funny is when I am about to get out of the car he says "now remember that you have everything" then I say "but I don't have every color" LOL So if you can't tell already I LOVE to shop!! I have been scrapbooking for about 8 years. I scrapbook or do something scrapbook related everyday, I love going to see what people have made on there blogs and I love watching YouTube! I mostly work on 12x12 LOs, I do make mini albums as well. What is sad is I am very behind in my own scrapbooks, I tend to make more scrapbooks for family and friends then I do for myself which is good because it helps me use up some of my scrapbook goodies so that I can buy more :)! What I have a hard time making is cards, they are so small and I can't get every thing that I want to put on the card to fit!! :( So I am challenging myself this year to work on my card making skills (it's hit and miss right now)! I've been scrapbooking seriously for 4 yrs and papercrafting/cardmaking for 2 yrs. My kids and family motivate me beyond my wildest dreams. Everyday is a new experience in the scrapbooking world. I love preserving my families small and big memories all on paper. I love life and being with my family! When I'm not scrapbooking I work from my home as a caregiver to two wonderful sweet kids and I love my job! When I'm not doing the above. My husband and I love the outdoors. And I love being with my family & doing things together as a whole. Thank you so much for the opportunity to be part of this team! I’ve always been involved in some type of craft. I enjoy sewing, embroidery, counted cross-stitch, crochet and making paper flowers. I especially love to cook and bake. I mill my own wheat and make my own bread and flour mixtures. Many years ago, one of our friends referred to me as the “cookiebaker” because I bake hundreds of cookies every Christmas season as gifts for all our friends and neighbors. The name stuck and is my avatar on my blog and stamping network sites. I began my stamping and paper art obsession about 7 yrs. ago. I’m a self-taught paper artist, learning primarily online through other wonderful bloggers and stamping networking sites. As a former Stampin’ Up hobby demonstrator, I’ve had the privilege of addicting…um, make that teaching some of my closest friends the love of paper art. My favorite paper art projects are gift sets. I love to take an ordinary everyday item and turn it into something beautiful with the use of paper and ink and then combine it with a beautiful card or tag. My style would probably be considered eclectic although I get the most pleasure from the more elegant styles. I believe each day is a gift waiting to be opened. Sometimes good, sometimes bad but always interesting. VISIT MY BLOG: http://www.paperandinkplayground.com/ Charlene Driggs, Design Team Member
I started scrapbooking in the early ‘90s, and although I enjoyed the process, I made very few layouts. It took me 5 years to get one album done! Fast forward to 2004; a divorce and a major move back to Florida changed all of that. Funny how, my scrapbook supplies were the only arts & crafts items that I brought with me!! I worked on a few pages during the next few years, but concentrated more on home decorating, sewing, and floral arranging. While out shopping one day, I picked up a magazine that inspired me to venture into a new art form – collages!! Still working on that one! Of course, if you are making collages, you need pretty papers, stamps, inks, all of the lovely supplies you need to do scrapbooking! Boy, was there a lot of new stuff out there, I was totally amazed at all of the great and innovative products on the market!! At about the same time, my daughter Ashley, announced that she was pregnant!! Well, that was it….I had to document her pregnancy and the baby shower, and the birth, and the footprints, and the smile, and the…….everything!!! Now, I’m hooked! In the last 2 years, I have learned so many new techniques, and found so many wonderful products, that I don’t think I’ll ever catch up! Scrapbooking has become a way of life for me. Not only is it my creative outlet and escape, it has also helped me to regain some sanity in my hectic life. My style? It varies quite a bit, from child themes, to very simple layouts, to vintage romantic chic. I love to mix the modern with the vintage style. And, I’m always looking for new ideas and techniques to try out, and to pass on, of course!! VISIT MY BLOG: http://mymadkow.typepad.com/mymadkow/ Lynne Woolgar, Design Team Member |
